From the supplier: National Assn of Insurance Commissioners Pres David J. Walsh praised the provisions in the crime bill recently enacted by Congress that makes white-collar insurance fraud a federal crime. The anti-insurance fraud provisions contained in the crime bill have the support of both insurance regulators and the insurance industry. Embezzling insurance company funds and overvaluing insurance company properties now are federal crimes carrying maximum penalties of 15 years imprisonment and $50,000 fines.
